To make sure that moving somewhere new, going through a life change, or simply wanting more from your social life never has to mean going it alone.
The problem we solve
Making friends as an adult is genuinely hard. Not because people don't want connection — they do. But the coordination overhead is exhausting. Who initiates? When does everyone work? Which group chat dies after three messages? Research suggests it takes around 50 hours together to go from acquaintance to casual friend, and about 200 to become close friends. Most apps stop at the match.
Kinno closes that gap. We build pods of 4–6 people around a shared interest, find a time that works for the group, and pick a public place to meet. You get a confirmed plan instead of another conversation about one.
Founder story
When I moved to Sydney, I barely knew anyone. On paper things were good. I had a job I liked, a routine, and a city I loved. But my social life was pretty thin, and building one from scratch was harder than I expected.
I tried the apps and kept ending up back at square one. I tried meetups and they felt more like work conferences than a fun night out. What I actually wanted was simple: a few people I'd get on with, a plan, and a time that suited everyone. So I started building Kinno.
